United States citizens are being denied the exercise of their Constitutional rights in cities all across America.
If you allow even one US citizen to have their rights violated, you are allowing your own rights to be taken from YOU and your loved ones as well. It does not matter whether you agree with the individuals whose rights are being violated. A violation of one person's rights is a violation of every person's rights.
When people involved with the Occupy Wall Street movement are being arrested for exercising their rights, call or write the mayor of the city, the chief of police, the city manager, and anyone else who is responsible for allowing these illegal arrests to be carried out.
You can use the following script for your phone calls and emails:
[Insert who is arresting people: city police, state troopers, etc.] are arresting peaceful protesters involved in the Occupy [city] movement. I am hereby submitting a complaint to you that this action is a blatant violation of the Constitutional rights of United States citizens to peaceably assemble. The 1925 Supreme Court ruling in Gitlow v. New York, 268 U.S. 652, has held that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment applies the First Amendment to each state, including any local government.
I demand that you take appropriate action to allow United States citizens to fully and completely exercise the rights guaranteed them by the United States Constitution, the supreme Law of the Land, to which every state and local government is subject.
It is every American's duty to uphold our Constitution. Failure to do so WILL result in the loss of freedom for every American.
